My Mom Thinks I’m Cool

Thursday, August 11th, 2005

Site statistics don’t lie: no one reads my plays!

I do have one fan, though. Thanks, Mom!

(Through voicemail:)

My Mother Hi, Michael. Well, I just finished Philosopher Kings. Very good, but I feel bad for poor Guy, chained up his whole life. Hope he can make it out of the cave soon. That’s all. Bye.

Strictly Platonic

It’s done!

For your taste-testing: my new one-act Philosopher Kings. Enjoy your tour of Plato’s Cave.

And with the new play comes a new design for the main page. It’s likely not permanent, but tell me how it looks.

Fear of Completion

Thursday, July 14th, 2005

This should make you suspicious:

  • I have a polished draft of Philosopher Kings that I am happy with, but I haven’t prepared it yet for public consumption.
  • And instead of starting my companion piece to Menage a Sartre and Philosopher Kings—a carefully researched and outlined Ibsen one-act—I have dashed off a few pages of the full-length play mentioned in this post.

Is this a fear of completion? Or mere laziness on my part? I certainly have experience with the latter.
