I said it before: I’m sick of seeing flaccid penises on stage!
But fellow playwright/blogger Michael Sendrow may have the answer. According to his weblog, Julia Cho’s Durango contains “a character’s pivotal and errant erection.”
Tell me more!
Ms. Cho’s understanding of the physics of an unintended boner felt false, and, for me, ultimately took me out of the story.
Hmmm, if the erection isn’t depicted well in the writing, it may not come across explicitly in the staging.
Can’t we get more than just a bulge in the pants? It’s 2006, people!
