Attention nostalgic theatre fans! The Fantasticks is back in New York, just as you remember it!
Above are the first things I noticed about this applauded production. Were tickets to The Fantasticks anywhere close to $75, even at the end of its decades-long run in 2002? And Snapple Theater Center?
High prices and rampant corporate culture are nothing new. Martin Denton (above) and Michael Feingold don’t even mention the price in their reviews; usually they’d be the first to do so. I guess we have to take a modern-day Fantasticks with all its modern-day trappings, Gatorade School of the Arts and all.
