I’ve Been Unoriginal Before

A curse on you, comic author Andy Singer!

I found Sartre’s play cold and depressing—so much so that I was inspired to write a parody of it, where Garcin, Inez and Estelle have a massive orgy. It ends with Garcin drawing on the walls of the room with Estelle’s lipstick and realizing how happy he feels.

So my No Exit parody is late to the game. Oh well, I’ve been unoriginal before.

But why do these three deserve a happy ending? I feel guilty for delesbianifying Ms. Inez Serrano. I feel guilty for undressing Ms. Estelle Regault—something I’ve never done before to a female character. But I don’t feel guilty for suggesting that these three would be just as miserable Logjammin’ as they would be in Sartre’s hell.
