Roar With Laughter

I mentioned another possible performance of Jack, Wanda, and Ben this fall, and now I have the details. Here they are:

Powell Leonard and the LionHearted Players
“Roar with Laughter”
at
22 BELOW CABARET
155 EAST 22ND STREET
NEW YORK, NEW YORK
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15
8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, September 15 at 8 p. m., the comedy troupe Powell Leonard and the LionHearted Players will make you “Roar with Laughter!” at 22 Below Cabaret. The cabaret is located on 155 E. 22nd Street (Take the 6 train to 23rd St.). This evening also features an open Mic for comics, singers, poets and performing artists. Poet Ella Louise Smith hosts the open Mic. Admission is a modest $7. To sign up for the open Mic call 718-482-8790.

Powell Leonard is head honcho (producer, director, ‘fearless leader’) of “Contrast and Juxtaposition,” a twice a month workshop held at Planet One Cafe for developing playwrights’ new material. The workshop offers actors and playwrights a chance to develop their projects and skills in a relaxed supportive environment. Scenes to be performed include Michael Foley’s “Acting Senator,” “Darn It!;” and “Meeting of the Minds;” Mike Mariano’s “Jack, Wanda, and Ben;” and Alan Perkin’s “My husband is an Alien,” “Stupid Police,” and “You Got a Problem?”

The LionHearted Players are: Leonardo Baquero, Bernard Bosio, Denise Casey, Colleen DeJohn, Kimshelly Garner, Irene Georgerian, and Randy Pez.

You may have noticed a lack of updates during my week in North Carolina, but as soon as I get to TCNJ, things will pick up. But to sum it up, this is cool news!
