Different Times

Here’s a question: Did you ever wonder what your play would be like if you wrote it at a different time? What would the difference be if you wrote a few pages tonight, instead of tomorrow morning?

This is what happened to me on Thursday night. I fired up my computer, figuring I only had enough time to time what I had written so far for this ten minute play, but after I timed it, I saw this outburst that one of my characters needed to have, so I wrote it in. Yet I hadn’t planned on writing anything that evening. What if I had waited until tomorrow to write? The outburst would probably have still been necessary, but would I have approached it the same way? Sometimes I want to read both plays, the one I wrote one night, and the one I would have written the next day, and compare them. It would be interesting.
